At UPPPER, our gear is designed to last. Some of our gear, like our Lifting Belts, are made with high-quality microfiber leather that is resistant to abrasions, while others, like our Lifting Straps, are made of a durable cotton and neoprene material. Although our gear is made to withstand anything, it’s still a good idea to keep it clean and in quality shape so it lasts even longer!
In this article, we’ll be giving step-by-step instructions on how to clean your UPPPER Lifting Gear so it stays looking good while you continue hitting PRs!
Ankle Straps
Our Ankle Straps are made of the same material as our Lifting Belts, microfiber leather. As we mentioned earlier, it’s durable leather, but keeping them clean will ensure they last longer.
To clean your Ankle Straps…
- Wash with mild soap in cold water.
- Air dry them, never machine-dry.
Wash them as often as they need to be, this will depend on how frequently you use them. You can wash once a month or every two weeks and in between washes, you can wipe the exterior down with a microfiber cloth.
Barbell Pads
If you love doing barbell hip thrusts, you probably use your UPPPER Barbell Pad a lot. Lucky for you, our 1.5” thick foam is protected with our mighty microfiber vegan leather so it doesn’t absorb any sweat. But just because it doesn’t absorb sweat doesn’t mean you shouldn’t clean it!
To keep your barbell pad in top shape wipe it down with a clean microfiber cloth, you can also apply an all-purpose cleanser. We suggest slightly damping it with lukewarm water and a disinfectant to wipe off any germs. You can wipe your Barbell Pad down as needed. Do not use any bleach products.
Lever Belts and Double Prong Belts
If you love heavy leg and back days then chances are you use your UPPPER Belt a lot so keeping it clean is of the utmost importance. Our Double-Prong Belts are made of microfiber leather while our Lever Belts have two layers of genuine leather on the inside, but the outside is our favorite sweat-resistant microfiber leather. So, the cleaning process will be the same.
Just like with our Barbell Pad, wipe it down with a clean microfiber cloth. We highly suggest disinfecting the outside and the inside of the belt to ensure any germs are wiped off. Since weightlifting belts are used more often we suggest cleaning it once or twice a week.
Lifting Straps and Wrist Wraps
Our Lifting Straps and Wrist Wraps are a must on pull and push days! If you love to go heavy on those days then ensuring your lifting gear is clean is very important.
For our Lifting Straps and Wrist Wraps, follow these instructions…
